Extension building at Dürr Technik
Dürr Technik GmbH & Co. KG, an enterprise of the Dürr group, will extend their factory at the headquarters in Bietigheim-Bissingen. For more than 50 years the company have been dealing in oil-free compressor and pump technology and offer a wide range of small compressors and vacuum pumps, as well as complete system solutions in compressed air technology. Their products are distributed by their own subsidiaries and partners all around the world. On Monday, 22 June 2015, the ground-breaking ceremony for the extension building took place.
Mr Martin Dürrstein and Mr Andreas Ripsam, both members of the management of Dürr Technik GmbH & Co. KG, performed the ground-breaking ceremony together with Mr Horst Köhler from the construction company Karl Köhler in Besigheim and Mr Tobias Knappe from the planning office IPE in Bietigheim-Bissingen.
With an investment volume of approx. 4 million euros, a new production building including an extensive test center, R&D offices and an underground car park will be created within the next 15 months. In late summer 2016 the new building is due to go into operation.
Decisive for the new building is continuous growth and the expansion of the range of products. Dürr Technik, for instance, are represented with their vapour recovery pump “MEX” in most of the pumps at petrol stations all over Europe and Asia. In the existing building, space has become limited. With its 1,240 m² of new assembly area and an additional 600 m² for offices and the test center, the extension building with underground car park offers, enough room for the next phase of growth.
